I hope there is a referendum petition to preserve recall law. That way the UCP will be forced to choose between preserving the recall law or risk alienating their pro-independence base by repealing the referendum law as well.

Just start another petition to hold a referendum on protecting and funding the recall act. That would split the UCP from their radical base.

I was at this rally. As a recent immigrant from the U.S., it struck me how different it was from similar U.S. rallies. Unlike, the U.S., I didn't see any anti-immigration shirts or signs. It was an overwhelming white crowd, but were very few explicitly racist symbols (no equivalent of Dixie flags)

So in comparison, Canada is doing pretty good.
