For the most part, people suck.
They have screwed up since 1967. Why would they stop now? What a waste of 8 years of elite talent. ALL the blame goes to Shanahan for this era’s supreme failure. The last good thing he did was the three headed leadership team of Dubas, Lou and Hunter. One horrible decision after another since.

The WHL lost most of its’ high end talent to the NCAA. Evaluating prospects in any major junior league is very risky as the elite talent from last year is gone.

The Leafs, especially their back end, will be old and done by then. The time was now and it has passed. This team has no draft picks and very few prospects to deal. They have three years left to compete and then it is many, many years of futility.

Coach wants Cowan’s grit. As long it isn’t stupid shit like he did in the world juniors. They see Cowan as a super pest in the Marchand mold, eventually. ( I know he is nowhere near that level currently)
