If you're going to read the whole Q&A 5 and 11 have some spoilers for later in the current arc. Also mostly wanted you to check out this great official jump video using old manga images and a sakurazaka song www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxRP... (the music video for start over! is worth checking out too!)

Togashi had visited concerts and the new arc is filled with references and even character and abilities named after songs, so when he received a letter with questions he couldn't help but give a more sincere, detailed answer than say when he was interviewed for the phantom rouge movie (pictured)

If you hadn't looked this up already the discussed ending was actually part of a written response to 11 questions sent to him by Yumiko Seki, a graduating (graceful term for retiring from a group) member of sakurazaka46; An all-female idol group Togashi had been a big fan of for a couple of years.

I'll really miss looking forward to my favorite HxH related media! Also I'm glad @sylvibullet.bsky.social was able to cut through the misinformation and share the theoretical 'endings' he wrote for hxh with the appropriate Togashi powerpoint/rambling for context. Excuse my own rambling as I add more

The manga has been on this boat for almost 10 real life years and I still love it

As a sidenote (to nothing) I think the official translation used quid pro quo, but I love the "Gibu ando taiku" here

Beyond wants to go there to get more beans

I've never seen people discuss or even try it for any other reason but it being the Togashi manga between yuyu and HunterxHunter, so it might be pretty rare that you consumed it on it's own merit! I remember being shocked it even had an anime adaption.

As somebody who looks at HxH info and discourse almost daily I somewhat dread the large amount of poor context and spoilers you might find by rudimentary google/socialmedia searches, so if you ever feel like you want (by no means expert) spoilerless info/context on Togashi stuff feel free to ask!

I'm so glad you all looked at the first panel of the chapter 340, I had the feeling it would amuse you.

Could this mean we are getting Jack discussing the final episodes on pain meds??

Theres gonna be some creepy guys in it too, but they'll get owned properly enough probably. I also saw you watched inu-oh, I havent yet but I can reccomend basically everything Ive seen that directors name (Masaaki Yuasa) is attached to!

Very similar great artstyle and animation even for a series. Has an even faster breakneck pace and rapid-fire dialogue that make it hard to follow especially in the beginning, but worth getting through. Having seen the film first you might be suprised by some familiar faces.

Did you watch tatami galaxy? despite this being a standalone story it was a spiritual successor to it and even had the same director.

for context Togashi definitely knew this would be the last chapter of what would be the last volume for a while, despite the previous chapters providing some closure and despite his condition looking grim at the time this chapter could be considered his true bold declaration of his ambitions for hxh

Despite what I said you and the rest of the MCP crew should maybe read chapter 340, the chapter right after the last of what the anime adapts, just to get a sense of what Togashi left the readers with before a 2 year hiatus. I can't guarantee you'll be able to stop reading though after this though!

Great! I think you will be able to see how the physical format is definitely kept in mind, especially for classic manga authors like Togashi.
July 8, 2025 at 8:07 PM
Wish I tried convincing you to get the physical manga cheap while you were in Japan, the price for English manga and it's (imo) disappointing translation of onomatopoeia make it a hard sell. I do however suggest you try to get through any form of the manga before starting where the anime left off.

I noticed I uploaded the wrong first picture and also a link for all the shonen jump author notes translated mangacrave.blogspot.com/2018/10/yosh...

Hearing it get brought up once again I theorize based on an interview mentioning there's always a TV on in his office, an authors note mentioning criminal minds and a Hatsu literally named How to get away with murder; that if he hasn't already the chance is always growing that Togashi will see House
