Cosmos was released at a time when there was a lot of pushback against TV violence from parent groups in Japan. Tsuburaya decided to give Cosmos a peaceful child-friendly exterior, but he still has a kill count above 50. He leaves that pacifism at the door pretty quick when he's pissed off. 😆
