I guess but with the borgen extension foreshadowing what drury might do w/ regard to the defense(at least), it’s pretty hard to get excited about the future

I don’t like the idea of getting rid of him to salvage whatever this is. He’s a good coach and it’s worth keeping him to coach whatever the new roster will be

Important to not lose sight of the good pieces this team has. A retool was going to be needed at some point. Obviously this is the time.

The deferred money is probably the main issue here. I haven’t seen how much of the yanks’ offer was deferred but it is hard to see Soto leaving to an in state rival over a less than 1% difference in the total offer

This is kind of thought. I don’t love the idea of adding Kadri in a vacuum but you’re kinda pot committed with Mika and Trocheck that doubling (tripling?) down might make sense

I kinda like Kadri as a fit if they’re gonna trade for one but there are a lot of salary , nmc hurdles. Even then, it’s a similarly aged center to what they have with a contract that is gonna get ugly in 3 or so years

Granted he looks god awful right now but he’s been great at that trigger position. Replacing him doesn’t guarantee the same results and changes the way an effective power play operates. Fairly irrelevant, but taking him off pp1 pretty much renders him completely useless
