So if a driver claims that their vehicle “took off on them” shouldn’t that trigger an investigation by a forensic mechanic?

Was the driver tested for alcohol/drugs/medical issues?

That really needs a city agency to just attempt a public nuisance case to get the business closed, there’s just not enough physical space for a car wash without large buffer zones at the entrance and exit. Would that be more a DOB thing or a DOT thing tho? 🤔

Maybe he meant it in an endearing way, like groupies going after a band 😂

The letter was signed last year when he probably assumed Biden would be re-elected. Didn’t want to step on his party’s toes. Stupid politics.

I wonder the right wing’s reaction if 9/11 had occurred under Gore instead of W though. Would Obama have been elected in 2008? Would things be better or worse than they are now?

They’re ambivalent at best.

Did it have chicken flu or chicken pox? 🤔

Good, but they need to explicitly create processes for when cops will inevitably try to harass or intimidate anyone writing them up. Any enforcement agency would probably need body cams.

Are these being written up by the DOB or another agency? 🤔

3 minutes? I would’ve played the lottery that day lol

I mean, it could be a clever asylum seeker lol

Because the right would have a field day yapping about the nanny state. They prioritize freedom *to* harm others above freedom *from* being harmed by others.

He could have even avoided embarrassment by just leaving a note, taking both cars to a body shop and paying out of pocket.

This is way preferable to what the guard did during the Vietnam war protests.

I mean, Parks can’t even properly maintain priority number 1 - their trees, of course they don’t replace nets.

Because the prosecutor supports fascism/authoritarianism, subscribes to the idea that it’s ok for state agents to ‘make mistakes’ against black and brown people.

Hopefully AI can't be worse than all the sociopaths already on the road.

cavatappi vs. ziti 🤔

At least this warning is documented, I never get those lol
August 16, 2025 at 6:23 PM
I bet if a medical + cognitive + behavioral testing regime were started tomorrow, 90%+ of crashes wouldn't happen.

Of course, that would prevent a huge portion of the population from driving so it would never happen.

I would think the insurance lobbyists could get that changed if they wanted to, no?

Just another example of how insurance companies are weirdly not proactive at all and seem to make no attempt to reduce traffic violence, crashes, and claims.

I thought that involved carrying a sofa up 3 flights.
August 16, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Not exactly, they can only park on sidewalks during emergencies, but these rules are not enforced.
August 16, 2025 at 11:47 AM
It just says at age 75 they require a road test and eye exam, it doesn't explicitly say those tests are required at renewal for the older aged.
