PhD in laser spectroscopy and long career marketing in the laser industry. Retired and consulting in non linear optics/ laser science with an interest in exotic wavelengths and higher power laser physics business.
Actually I think all H2 fuel cell cars use a battery like a conventional hybrid system does, for acceleration assistance and regen braking - improving overall efficiency. Any EV is more efficient than an ICE and a much better fit to power/torque requirements for transportation anyway.

Are you assuming hydrogen is used as a fuel in a combustion engine or through a FC? A fuel cell H2 system really is just another eV, although I agree that it’s not currently cost effective to use green H2.
