Precision laser technology was developed in 1964 to track spacecraft. This eventually led into the field of corrective eye surgery. Goodyear yoinked co-developed NASA rubber tech designed for the parachutes on Mars landers to tires last 10,000+ miles more. I could go on but I'm running out of time.

Sigh, I hear you. Deeply.
I’ll admit, I say “compassion & consequences” on purpose + frequently - as a reminder for myself.
I’m afraid of forgetting that compassion ever mattered to me, by the time consequences start rolling.
I must not become the enemy or fanatic I abhor 😓 I hope
