I help customers make sense of their data, using Microsoft technologies.
Seems like the Fiverr mentality. We'll be here to fix the mess, at rates that allow us to make a decent living 😏

$1B...start there, you can always work your way down.

Carry on
December 17, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Probably not a good use of your time :-/

One, the answer is always one.
December 14, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Yes for sure. Let's not forget that Power BI had its foundations in Analysis Services, which was as solid as a rock at that point. I feel like that enabled that approach.

If I were however to move to the cool kids club and "modern data warehousing", I'm not sure Fabric would be my first or even second choice.
December 14, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Totally agree. Being on the bleeding edge is getting more and more expensive.

I actually don't mind being in the land of ADF, Azure SQL and Stored Procs still. They work as advertised, every time :-)

This is the exact reason why I haven't recommended Fabric to any of my customers, and probably won't for the foreseeable future.

Creating technical debt just to make a product work, is not where I want to be.

Serious question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely are you to recommend Fabric after the deployment?
December 11, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Ha! Marketing got you with that one 😏
November 20, 2025 at 5:03 PM
It may be the Emperor's clothing, but I'm not sure :-/

Ouch...probably DNS
October 29, 2025 at 6:12 PM
That and those pesky net promoter surveys :-/
October 22, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Time for a vacation :-)
October 22, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Thank you! We might need to start a support group 😶‍🌫️
October 6, 2025 at 8:46 PM
accurate!
October 6, 2025 at 7:42 PM
This is my current status, no joking :-/

replace "dimension" with "dimension/fact"
September 3, 2025 at 1:28 PM
I'd probably try a calculation group, and store all the date values in the dimension. You can hide them from the end users but will need it for the calculations.
