Queen Anne's Lace.
Despite the dark background, I took this in the middle of the day in Hibiya Park - using flash to erase backgrounds is very useful. Combined with an ND filter it lets you pick the aperture creatively rather than pragmatically.

These were taken with a Takumar 200mm F4 that's older than I am and cost 3000JPY. I can't bring myself to call it a crappy lens.

脱皮したてのパイロンの外殻が柔らかいため、捕食者から身を隠すために通常の色ではなく、黒など環境に溶け込む色になります。脱皮後の外殻は時間の経過とともに元の硬さと色に戻ります。この画像は渋谷道玄坂で筆者が撮影した脱皮中のパイロンです。

Katakuri. The roots of these used to be processed to make starch, and you'll still find "katakuri powder" in every grocery store, but it's been made of potatoes for probably a hundred years. The flowers only open on sunny days in response to the warmth of the ground. #photography #bloomscrolling

A statue of Hana-chan, the local kitsune in Nagahama, by Biwako. There is a legend about Hana-chan posted nearby. It does absolutely nothing to explain why the statue looks like this. I still have no idea why it looks like this.
