If you plan on throwing them out, I'd carefully cut off the lids, and put them on a poster board with some tea bag art around them. Make a little tea art shadowbox out of it all. Could look cool.

I think the one on the right I might have picked up a few years go and then kind of stumbled onto the one on the left later.
The one on the right has an additional quote, so I'm thinking it must be a newer one. The pages of that book are a bit more yellowed then the auburn red one.

For some reason I have two 'Dinning with Sherlock Holmes' 2nd ed. books and I need to decide which one I'm going to take to auction at 221bcon.

The only difference I can see is the edition page and I'm not sure why they are not the same. The publisher is the same. Fordham University Press, New York

The first book writes Mary Morstan as being trans, with Watson leaving her for it. She is not written in a good light and Watson misgenders her multiple times.

The animation could get very bad and anti-trans very fast.

MARY IS A MAN!’ An ear-piercing, high-pitched shriek pierced the musky atmosphere, like a bolt of lightning. Suddenly, Mrs. Turner crashed through the door into the room, her habitually-glum frame doubled-up in heavy laughter, her eyes pouring out tears! We waited patiently but it was no good; she was in a spasm and could not stop herself. It was Holmes who resigned first. He jumped up and bundled her out of the room, with a ‘Yes. No. Not a word now. No, not to anyone…’ followed by the unmistakable sound of human tissue being slapped hard. It was brutal but necessary, to stem her hysteria successfully. Such treatment is accepted by the medical community throughout the civilised world and Holmes would have aimed his hand well, being the excellent amateur pugilist that he is. Medicine aside, I would have preferred to see his size 10 up her backside! When he had finished, and closed the door behind him, he turned to look at me, his features not declaring the slightest remorse. He picked up our conversation where it had left off. ‘You poor fellow,’ he said. ‘You could not see it. Mary was in an advanced state of gender transformation.’ ‘Thank you, Holmes. How did you know?’ ‘I had written a treatise on female impersonators.’ ‘Of course you had!’ I quipped cynically. Then a manuscript entitled When Man Becomes Woman, by S.N.J. The books are very awful. The first being particularly bad.

From book 15 of the series. Watson stays homophobic in the end of the book.

Do not get hopes up on this series, although mine is that it does not get made considering what they are using as source.

No, my friend, to me the homosexual way of life is totally unacceptable.’

Checked the last one because it was titled 'Marriage of the gay bachelor', and no, it meant 'gay' as in happy.

It has T-*mp as a featuring character, with Holmes apparently finding his daughter 'Hatty' T and helping protect them from blackmail from Moriarty.

Then he offered us a chance of talking to you alone, Robert, if we came around to his rooms at once.’ Lord St. Simon had by no means relaxed his rigid attitude but had listened with a frowning brow and a compressed lip to this long narrative. ‘Excuse me,’ he said, ‘but it is not my custom to discuss my most intimate personal affairs in this public manner.’ ‘Then, you won’t forgive me? You won’t shake hands before I go?’ ‘Oh, certainly, if it would give you any pleasure.’ He put out his hand and coldly grasped that which she extended to him. ‘I had hoped,’ suggested Holmes, ‘that you would have joined us in a friendly supper.’ ‘I think that you ask a little too much,’ responded his lordship. ‘I may be forced to acquiesce in these recent developments, but I can hardly be expected to make merry over them. I think that, with your permission, I will now wish you all a very good night.’ He included us all in a sweeping bow and walked out of the room.
