No, it’s taking facts and misinterpreting them, adding slurs. private school fees up 55% equates to 2.2% Pa that’s pretty much on general inflation, no real increase. While state funding flat lined (Tory rule) so massively cut. Disproportionate yes, but not for the reasons given

I was probably wrong to use the class warrior slur. This particular topic grates on me.

You can have a full A&C session if you want one. :D

Stuff like this makes me realise combining to bsky is not so great (though leaving X was a great decision). Class warrior talk, no thanks. I prefer some objectivity, you have NONE.

Like all warriors, you are so keen to attack something you just ‘feel’ is wrong you ignore the massive real issue, which is real terms state school spending declined substantially in this period (I assume mostly due to the vicious Tory governments from 2010 - but haven’t checked that).

I wonder if you are embarrassed at writing misleading rubbish. I can get this on X, thanks, no need to bring it here.

To increase fees 55% in 20 years means the e average annual increase was about 2.2%, pretty much in line with general price inflation. So they held fees level in real terms.

I did. Nigel farage has my best interests at heart. I’m not a R F idiot, Trump loves us and Nigel will get a fantastic trade deal - far better than with the EU, though we do all our trade with the EU; in addition Nigel & Donald will get a fair deal with Putin on Ukraine, making Europe safe. OK?

Maybe. He’s also good at it (attracting attention). Do not underestimate your enemy.

I changed my view of FN when I heard his advocacy of an internship scheme at the Spectator which sounded very sensible and very inclusive. Tried to find it just now, it may be this article: www.spectator.co.uk/article/dive...
Diversity, nepo-babies and The Spectator
It’s a bit of a late entry for phrase of the year, but the term ‘nepo babies’ has captured attention this week. It was first used in this article in New York magazine to describe the children of celeb...

I admit my own view of (previously) immigrant families is a slanted one, but fwiw this is exactly my personal experience.

Would I be want a child/grandchild of mine to marry a young person from a family that came here in the last 50+ years? You bet I would.

Only if he’s ’paid his dues’. Article 5 is optional, apparently, these days.

And there you have it - they are disrupters, nothing more.

I would never say Charlotte Owen was not up to the job, in fact I don’t even know what her job was.

I noticed yesterday that M&S had a pre-prepared version of this on sale.

Not convinced at all. She is right that results will take time to show. Ultimately she and govt will be judged on the facts, in this area, which will be there to see.

It’s not going low, in this case. It is wrong in principle to allow a foreign individual or company to find a way to avoid our rules and fund a UK party.

He’s a disruptor, so she is no doubt right. Her own performance in this regard will be easier to measure, I fear she will also do badly, for other reasons.

For completeness, it really - really - is not all men, it’s a tiny number as a proportion (but I understand it is 51 too many if you are a woman (and a man, actually).

Posted because: I’ve just seen one or two posts elsewhere on the ‘all men are rapists’ theme - only if all Muslims are terrorists.

He says that like it’s a bad thing.
December 20, 2024 at 6:16 AM
It’s unnerving but not surprising, to me, and I can understand how a woman would feel, realising there could be 50+ men capable of this living in her general area.
