Yes absolutely! I became a grief therapist last year for this reason. When I talk to my clients about what grief is, they are astonished.

I also want to point out that it’s a result of gentrifying the country out of the metro area. Good country black ppl are actually super warm and the more that the trendy black elite culture got infused the heart of the city dissipated.

I mourn old Atlanta. Just learned the West End will be closing down this month. I don’t know if people are considering they are connecting with a community grieving the loss of home.

Also something to note Atlanta natives have had to perform a quality of kindness that is tourist centered. Think about how tourist go to Hawai’i expecting “Aloha” in every iteration of their experience. It’s the same with Atlanta. It’s a strain to perform kindness in a way that isn’t reciprocated.

Atlanta natives have been pushed out of the city. Atlanta has become inhospitable to the folx born and raised there. The city is a relic of what it used to be. Also you will rarely see folx from Atlanta driving the same roads as transplants. If you from there you taking the back roads all day.
