How many of today's EVs on the road can charge at 400kW, even for a few minutes? Are they 400kW SHARED, so each of two EVs sees 200kW? I think that is closer to realistic charging rates.

NRCan as well needs to stop the hydrogen narrative. I think most government actors know, but the politics makes it difficult to walk away and say, 'I was wrong.' SMRs and Direct Air Carbon Capture will go the same way as hydrogen for energy, but a few more years are needed for things to shake out.

Yes. Use of the right of way to include an electron pipeline (aka HVDC link). And when you form your unity government to rally Canadians against our common threat, let Blanchet lead the clean energy strategy. Don't get sucked into SMR and Direct Air Carbon Capture funding sinkholes.

Compare the infrastructure buildout, operating, maintenance, and per kwh generation costs of electron pipelines (HVDC) vs molecule (oil/gas) pipelines. Remember that you need to provide three times as much energy from molecules as from electrons, due to wasted heat. Electrons win hands down.

Sounds like sour grapes from those who could not respond quickly to changing market conditions. The impending end to rebates was announced by the federal government. Tesla purchasers responded in seconds to minutes on-line. Others could not. It is that simple.

If the rail link right-of-way could be shared with an HVDC cable (aka electron pipeline), as the first leg to interconnecting Canada's electrical utilities, then many development costs could be shared.
