Another one of my decks is purely inspired by the idea of making someone Really Confused when I try to put as many ice counters onto Dark Depths as possible, and then either do some nonsense like animating it and equipping Luxior, Giada's Gift or moving all of those counters to Iceberg for mana.
Dark Depths MTG card. It is a legendary snow land with the following: Dark Depths enters with ten ice counters on it. {3}: Remove an ice counter from Dark Depths. When Dark Depths has no ice counters on it, sacrifice it. If you do, create Marit Lage, a legendary 20/20 black Avatar creature token with flying and indestructible. Typically, it is played with something like Thespian's Stage to create a copy with no ice counters to just get a 20/20 creature, but instead I'm putting a bunch of ice counters onto it. Luxior, Giada's Gift MTG card. It is a Legendary Artifact - Equipment card with - Equipped creature gets +1/+1 for each counter on it. - Equipped permanent isn’t a planeswalker and is a creature in addition to its other types. (Loyalty abilities can still be activated.) - Equip planeswalker {1} - Equip {3} If you animate Dark Depths and then equip Luxior onto it, the card will remain a creature even if the animate effect wears off, since Luxior adds the creature type to it. Iceberg MTG card. Enchantment. This enchantment enters with X ice counters on it. - {3}: Put an ice counter on this enchantment. - Remove an ice counter from this enchantment: Add {C}. If you move all of the counters from Dark Depths to Iceberg using something like Resourceful Defense with some forms of counter doubling, you can go infinite with it. It's a very dumb combo in this way that is not worth your time generally speaking.

I refuse to play her because I know how annoying she can be for others but Selvala, Explorer Returned's spell reversal nonsense is so fascinating to me.
Selvala, Explorer Returned. She has the ability Parley - {T}: Each player reveals the top card of their library. For each nonland card revealed this way, add {G} and you gain 1 life. Then each player draws a card. Since mana abilities do not use the stack and cards are declared before you necessarily need the mana to cast them, if you declare that you are casting something that costs too much and you're activating Selvala's ability to attempt to produce that mana, you are able to reverse the spell. Selvala will remain tapped and her mana will still be present/each player will have drawn a card, but the spell you were casting will return to your hand as well as any other things you may have tapped to pay for the spell.

#journal I've been exhausted in many ways lately, and I don't have much experience with poetry but free verse has been the only way I've managed to get any sort of creativity to work lately so it's that or starve.

My partner encouraged me to share this one.
Growing Up Woodbound I miss the forest. When I wasn't me, the woods were a place that didn't care I'd yet to become. She did not judge me, pine needle under tennis shoe, for what words failed to come to my tongue. She didn't care. She was there before me and she would be there long after; that far future when I'd leave her behind. She does not mind that I have gone in search of a home by choice instead of a home by instruction. She is still there, comfortable in her own silence. Perhaps she is cradling another little girl who does not yet understand what feels wrong inside his skin. I hope so.
