did you think that labetalol is a single drug?

nope

it’s actually a mixture of FOUR different drugs

RS, RR, SS, and SR-labetalol

and this is clinically relevant!

lets discuss why…

It just doesn’t sit right with me that when a Ukrainian is insulted by the American president, everyone is up in arms, but when the racist fascist Islamophobic face of Zionism is invited to the White House to brag about committing war crimes against Palestinians those voices aren’t as loud

This is downright genocidal. Revoking access to HIV meds will cause new infections to skyrocket while current patients deteriorate as HIV goes untreated.
I know there’s a lot right now. But folks need to understand what this means.

A suspension this long would mean people living with HIV lose their medicine for months. People around the world lose their PrEP for months, putting millions at risk of getting HIV. Drug-resistant strains could emerge.

Disgusting and horrifying. It’s such an imbalance of power.

a patient presents with DKA and this blood count

how can you tell that there's a serious infection going on here

(not just the usual DKA due to gastroenteritis, insulin pump malfunction, viral URI, etc.)?

I’m not sure if it’s inertia of the medical system, issues with information dissemination, or a generic quality gap of some sort, but it feels like we’ve been trying to stop this madness forever. The field has moved away from the concept of hypertensive urgency and for very good reason.
