Carrying his wife to bed, Basil thinks of how he fell in love with her, nervously asking her out on a date, and all the moments he shared with her. Basil checks on his daughter and then the family rabbit before climbing in bed with his wife, who's breathing silently behind him. The act of getting in bed woke Aubrey, she smiles as she and her husband look into each other's eyes, knowing how much she and him sacrifice to provide for their daughter. The two pass out roughly at the same time, and thus ends another day in the life of Mr. and Mrs. Flowers, and their daughter Parsley.

After eating, it's time to put Parsley down for bed, as she'll no doubt wake up many times through the night, a cycle her parents have gotten used to taking turns tending to her. While Basil picks out a movie, Aubrey sets the popcorn, as it's become a bit scarce for alone time since Parsley was born, they choose a horror movie. The movie was pretty cheesy, but they didn't mind, they sat in each other's arms, knowing the day will end soon, and the process will repeat all over again. Exhausted from the day, Aubrey passes out, prompting Basil to check the time and realize it's a bit past their bed time. He turns the movie off and scoops his wife in his arms.

Waiting for his wife to return, Basil sets food to cook while he watches as his daughter plays with the family rabbit, wondering if she'll be as tired as he is now. Aubrey arrives home, tired from work, eager to see her kid, after listening to troubled teenagers all day, she thinks how lucky she is to have made a family with her best friend. The three embrace each other after a long, hard day of work (well, playing for Parsley), Aubrey then takes her daughter, not getting to hold her all day. The Flowers sit down for some spaghetti, Aubrey helping Parsley eat, while Basil thinks what a lucky guy he is for marrying and starting a family with his best friend.

Basil tries to work out a schedule at his part-time job that allows Aubrey to take care of Parsley, but also to reserve a day they both have off to spend together. Aubrey meanwhile, listens to a troubled teen, thinking of some of the challenges both she and Basil had growing up with neglectful parents. Her mind wanders to her daughter. Meeting up with his client and friend Kel, he does a photo-op for him and his bride-to-be Cris, while their families discuss plans for the big day (or play with Basil's kid) Aubrey meanwhile, is chatting with her friend Sunny, who moved out of town, asking if he's received and coming to Kel and Cris's wedding, which Sunny confirms he's coming.
