A friend made me this fox and sent it to me along with this No One is Illegal patch. I've named her Kij after one of my friends who wrote a wonderful book entitled The Fox Woman.

I have found myself in need of comfort reading of late. I just finished rereading The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame & illustrated by David Petersen. And soon I shall read The River Bank by Kij Johnson, illustrated by Kathleen Jennings.

A framed reproduction of one of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings of Sunflowers. The original hangs in the Van Gogh Museum. It shows sunflowers in various life stages, some in full bloom, some going to seed, some withering, so in a vase of tan and gold with a blue line going across the center. Vincent's signature is on the vase. The entirety of the reproduction, including the frame, is composed of LEGO pieces.

I got my first tattoo yesterday! I didn't want it to be dismissed as a joke, so I didn't share it until now.

Tattoo on my left shoulder. A circle with an off center hole inside and in the hole, a circular crystal. The crystal is at the apex of a triangle which intersects the bottom of the circle. The circle is covered in a rainbow of horizontal bands: red at the top, then orange, yellow, green, blue, and finally purple at the bottom. The triangle has the colors of the BIPOC flag, black, brown, cyan, magenta, and white. It is angled and shaded in such a way to seem as if the triangle is 3 dimensionally rising towards the viewer and casting a shadow on the right side of the circle. The gem in the center is inked in such a way that it suggests sparkles and highlights.

Today is the International Day of the Magicians. Since 1953 it is the day set to honor Saint John Melchior Bosco, the patron saint of magicians, who died on the 31st of January, 1888.
