Purchaser of records...and the hobby grew. Batcave dweller. Grampy to the fab 4 (Currently known as the Grampster) Fan of travel (Expect endless tedious photos of European streets)
Some beautiful artwork and decorative ceramic tiles all over Vallauris on the Cote d'Azur just above Cannes. The last photo is the first sculpture made by Pablo Picasso in the main square entitled Man With Sheep. Being Welsh seeing a man tenderly holding a sheep is nothing new. #photography

The beautiful port town of Frejus on the Cote d'Azur today. A tie loosening 39 degrees today. Mad dogs and Welshmen occasionally do go out in the midday sun... but not for too long. #Frenchriviera #photography

It's been a while since I posted anything. So much has happened since January 2025. Sony Walkmans, the Internet and best of all, a fantastic new Pulp album. I should mark my return with something momentous, but I've been swimming today and took a nice picture so here it is #photography #Wesanderson

The amazing Baj Pomorskie Theatre in Torun Poland. One of the most inventive and beautiful architectural designs I've ever seen. The carousel at the top goes around like a beautiful music box at show time.

Gdansk Long Market Street called Dlugi Targ. It's still Christmas here in Poland until 5th February. #Gdansk

Adventures in Poland Part 4. Return to Gdansk in the Pomeranian Voivodeship region. It always sounds so mundane writing Mid Glamorgan as my region after a trip to Europe. I love this beautiful, historic city. #Poland #Gdansk

The snow here tonight reminds me of a photograph I took of my grandson crossing a bridge a few years ago. It was quite atmospheric in its original incarnation, but in black and white, it looked quite scary, like something out of a Japanese horror film. #photography #blackandwhite

A photograph I took a few years ago that for me really captures the joy of January after the colour and magic of Christmas and December. I've always suspected that Scrooge went back to being an absolute git on January 1st. Humbug! Oh and Happy New Year I suppose. #photography #blackandwhite

This was an old fibre optic tree that no longer worked and had been collecting dust in the attic for several years. One set of new coloured lights later, and I like it more than my big Christmas tree. Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve 1979 Mum and Dad hinted I might get my 1st record player. We were Christmas shopping and I wanted London Calling. When we couldn't find it, they let me buy 10 singles. It's still one of my happiest memories. Mum and Dad are long gone, but I play the singles every year to remember them.

My annual attempt at getting the world to love this album always fails, but like Scrooges nephew in inviting the old git to Christmas dinner every year, I will persist. The soundtrack to the Richard Curtis film that never was. Emmy the Great and Tim Wheeler.

Put some (more) Christmas lights up in the Batcave and noticed the reflection on the record. "Laughing at the Christmas lights" There will be jollier records played in the next seven days.

I'm trying to flip the algorithm (Jeff Goldblum is the only man who could deliver that line and sound cool) to interest followers who like photography. Sending images from the other place, so apologies if you've seen them. My trip to a very Christmassy Wroclaw in Poland back in January.

Highlights of the year. Looking down over the 12th century Pont Vieux Bridge in Beziers in South West France in September.

As well as the many music friends I made on the other place, I wish I had more interaction with photography enthusiasts, which is a passion of mine. I'm going to post more photos here, both new and old. (I'm sure there a mute button here too) Here's a Heron on the River Taff on a very grey day today

"Today we are going to listen to some classical music" was usually greeted with groans when our music teacher began a lesson with this line. Me included, except when it was Prokofiev. His musical genius has always been the sound of winter and the start of December and Christmas for me.

Finally home to play this. I've limited myself to only a few listens. The YouTube gig and one last week. I turned out all the lights of my hotel room to look out at a foggy, atmospheric Prague night and it sounded wonderful in the most perfect of locations. The Cure Songs of a Lost World. #thecure

Hello Bluesky. I currently have 0 followers, so I'm clearly as popular here as my last few tweets were on the last place. As I will over time, bore you into submission with endless photos of Europe I thought I'd start with some photos of beautiful Prague, where I've spent the last week. #Prague
