It has this quote at the bottom ‘This Book is lovely’ by Philip Pullman next to a photo of my book The Year I Stopped to Notice: cover is rectangles in yellow, blue and cream with illustrations of a Chinese waving cat, a person on a bicycle, a fishmonger’s van, a Dachshund, a plant in a pot, a pigeon and 2 red mittens. A photo of a double-page spread from the chapter 'AT THE PARK'. The colour of the pages is pink and the text is black and illustrations are in black and white. There are observations by me (the text is too small for most people to read I this image) and a black-and-white illustration on the left-hand page by Adam Beer, of a park with runners and trees, a close-up of a bush and a bee near a lavender flower. The right hand page has illustrations of a couple walking in a park from behind, a dachshund on a lead and a woman on a bicycle - facing away from us. Pages inside The Year I Stopped to Notice: An illustration by Luci Power of: A hairdresser in Islington washes the hair of a client as she stares out of the salon window, shampoo foaming up her arms like the encroaching tide. A photo of a double-page spread from the chapter ‘ON THE STREET’. The colour of the pages is white, and the book is against a wooden background. There are observations by me (the black text is too small for most people to read) and a black-and-white illustration on the left-hand page by Adam Beer, of a tall building.

Yesterday I received a wonderful letter from this twice knighted legend - the second - Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael And St George. Described in the UK as a national treasure, he is most certainly a treasure to the entire natural world. You certainly recognize him.
