I was originally considering having Asterus and Anna flipped but I think Anna would like something simple like that (though tbf vanilla is far from a “default” flavour — very good) and Asterus would be the type to be a little more flashy

All in all, I'm glad knowing that all of my gods, as I've designed them, have a real tangible role, especially unbalanced like this. It's fun to think about, imo.

Finally, the Abstract Gods just run around the place and keep things interesting for the rest. They put the spice in the world, by fucking around with knowledge and its spread, messing with desire by occasionally granting wishes, etc etc.

The Perfect Gods are Arceus, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina. They maintain the world and all that.

The Overseer Gods need to ensure their domain keeps working as it does. Something like death doesn't always happen perfectly, which is why Yveltal soometimes has to claim a life to keep things going.

I love to mess with the concept of divinity.

Specifically, in my fic, deities are split into "tiers", so to speak, with the highest gods being the Perfect Gods, followed by Overseer Gods and Abstract Gods.

to be fair, every single person in the afterlife has been at some point in the living world

there is a huge disconnect somewhere in the recent arrivals for as-of-yet unrevealed lore reasons

idk there’s still quite a lot to flesh out before i get here (especially the look — i feel i can do better)

Some want things that they feel they’re missing in their afterlife, others are simply done with life and the afterlife and merely want oblivion

and Giratina tries to grant both

One building much different from the others, instead being some odd crystal jutting out of the ground, with a large ornate door, leading directly to Giratina’s doorstep

because the gods can’t be perfect and they know that — and some come here to ask for things

A bit of wilderness that never existed in the living world around the city for those who are feeling more adventurous

it is, by all means, just life again, but personally customized by the gods to make sure it’s at least a little better as an eternal resting place

Different flora around the place, that seems to have made way for the buildings (since they literally did), the buildings around the place not having any sort of regular construction and heavily decorated

Everyone’s got a little of what they like in their home

I intend to do an afterlife and have the main characters visit, but to be honest, as of yet, I’m not quite sure what to put in it lmao

There’s defo gonna be two big revelations for sure merely upon arriving there (no way around it), but for the general vibe I’m thinking maybe a kind of divine city
