I say let the Rs remake the rules to figure this all out, let them own it. And if it really gets bad enough, enough people might care enough to try and fix it. I don't see a good way out of this shutdown. Dems bailing out the ACA is a bandaid on a bullet hole

The average US citizen apparently doesn't believe that the Rs would allow their health care plan to become unaffordable. A lot of people don't care about or believe in something like that until it happens to them personally, or it happens to someone close to them.

At this point, when Rs from the top down are refusing to acknowledge basic facts and 47 seems to be doing everything in his power to start a civil war, this kind of propaganda can't be negotiated with.

There is no guarantee that any agreement to fund ACA subsidies will be honored, so Dems need to demand certain things before negotiating www.vox.com/politics/463...
The Supreme Court’s newest decision could make it impossible to end the shutdown
How do you negotiate with a man who can break his promises at any time?

It's not the hill that I want Dems to die on. There are a lot of things they could be demanding right now. I feel like they need to demand some other things first. Like: swear in Adelita. Make Rs display a basic level of parity between the parties before negotiation occurs.

So I am conflicted about the shutdown. If the ACA is so bad that it needs to he subsidized, maybe we just let it fail? We still have a basic level of care in this country. It is called going to the ER. It sucks, I know. But like I said, so does the ACA

root canal wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. The music changed and wasn't barely audible from the chair anyways.
