Yes but in general plantation means slavery farm. This is an exception but it’s distracting language. Calling it a garden instead would be more valuable.

I live in the contemporary anglosphere and billions of others who are live today read and speak English of today. When you say plantation, this is the expected definition. If it happened to be called concentration camp, it too would be worthy of being renamed.

It’s a garden of bushes, flowers, and trees. The most common use of “plantation” is to describe for-profit farms that grow and sell crops using chattel slave labor.

Calling a garden a plantation adds nothing and serves only to distract from the beauty of said garden and do emotional harm to many.

At least it’s in the UK.

Why is anything still named plantation in 2025?

Most people can’t afford to live in the most desirable area of any sort. But build more of this sort of dense housing and these neighborhoods stop being rare gems and instead become something more accessible to more people. Find ways to include coops and public housing and it’s great & inclusive.

Except this administration is still bad news for 99% of rich people. Basically nobody is winning here. A few feel like they are but way fewer will have net profit vs Dems in power.

I agree with you completely

You guys are no fun. We’re not profiting from stolen labor, we’re making jokes within the system that we live in today. Why wouldn’t we use what’s at our disposal for free?

Exactly the problem. Normies don’t want to see people breaking the mold and doing what they’re super passionate about, especially if it ends up with you being successful.

Working “smart” (skilled) vs working “hard” (less skilled). Everyone deserves a living wage.

I’m all for raising the minimum wage, but if the job can be done with a middle school education and a week or two of on the job training then I think it’s fair to distinguish it from work that requires many weeks, months, or years of study, certification, training, to gain specialized skills.
