Welcome to Bluesky. The water is warm. Dive on in. You get the X experience without needing a bleach soak/ scrub down afterwards.

Hey everyone. This may spill over into more than one post. I saw in the New York Times that Pete Hegseth had positive comments about the Crusades from the 1100s. Obviously, this man has zero grasp of history. To start, where in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount did he proscribe a rifle in a person’s face…

Biden pardoned his son over gun charges. Jared Kushner got $2 billion from the Saudi Wealth Fund (Saudi auditors called it a “dubious” investment). All Barack Obama did was faithfully love his wife, and wear a tan summer suit. I miss that man and his tan suit. No replacing of that class. Sigh.

Late night thoughts: I just upgraded my phone to an iPhone 16 Pro from an iPhone 12 Pro. No judgement about any carriers. I believe that all the large mobile providers have their own “quirky” procedures. Plan on packing a lunch and a beer. You will be busy for at least one beer’s worth of time. Eek.

Enjoying watching Michigan give Ohio State a tough go of it. Thoughts on how to make any game better. Einbecker Pilsner from Einbeck in Germany and Space Dust IPA from Elysian Brewing in Seattle. Good beer will salve many wounds. Hopefully.

I do enjoy the word “are”. Too bad the last sentence in my post didn’t need that word. Who said I was a world class editor. Typing and editing are fundamental. Eek.

As a Chicagoan and a lover of things that force you to reflect on your views, please find Georges Seurat’s Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte somewhere on the Internet. I believe that Pointillism is a perfect analogue for life. Distance and perspective are inform your world views.

I just saw in The Athletic that the Bears have fired Matt Eberflus. How many times does a team make hires that flop before you just start crying. Grrrr. If I shot myself in the foot as often as the Bears do, my toes would sue for separate maintenance. Sigh.

My last post (the holidays give you way too much free time) for tonight: for your music library, please consider The K’s from Earlestown in England and also Public Body from Brighton in England. You should not be disappointed.

…… also: Roki Sasaki would be a welcome addition. Imagine, the Cubs in the 2026 World Series. A man is allowed to dream.

Hey all of you Chicago Cubs fans out there: if you think about it, please nag the Cubs, via social media, to sign Jack Flaherty. Pitching is too important to be a scare resource.

Two quick music recommendations that hopefully will end up in a playlist of yours:
Spite House from Montreal and
Sub_51 from Port Talbot in Wales. Well worth listening to.

I noticed that some Chicago Bears fans are ready to send Matt Eberflus to the slagheap. Yes, he should have called a time out. We need to be glass half full fans. Caleb Williams showed improvement. Let Caleb Williams have some consistent surroundings. Things will get better.
