As for the dubstep sounding bass in my song. I used phasers which are unfortunately exclusive to AbyssBox. I don't know much about Slarmoo's, but I'd guess that it would be possible, but difficult to make a similar effect. I'll say though to use distortion, bitcrush, and note filters for dubstep.

I don't usually make purely video game tracks. However, I do listen to a bunch of video game music and it's one of my bigger inspirations for my music. Most video game tracks for bosses that I listen to establish tones through really fast notes. Of course this is just a recommendation of mine.
