For health-related reasons I can’t go to the #NoKings protest Saturday, but one of my paintings is going. A friend will be carrying my painting as her protest sign to the protests in Albany NY and later to the one in Troy NY so that some of me can be there (🥹).

I washed my new shirt before wearing it as always and introduced it into its new life with me by inadvertently violating every line on the washing instructions tag except the first one (of course) and the last one (iron??).

Since this appears to be #landscape and other #scape day in #ArtSky, I thought I’d share some of my #tinyscapes,
1” x 1.5”, acrylics. (Yes, I can do larger paintings now but I like these.)
A series of 7 tiny paintings, each 1 inch by 1-1/2 inches. Shown with a normal sized bic pen below them to show scale. Going from left to right, the tiny paintings are: 1) a pine forested lakeshore with a sun sparkled blue lake under blue skies; 2) a farm in late fall/early winter, there’s a red barn partially behind a large leafless tree sporting a tie swing hanging from one branch, there’s grass is dead yellow and the sky a November grey; 3) a path through a dense green hardwood forest, with small flowers scattered through the underbrush; 4) foxglove type flowers in a field under a cloudy blue sky; 5) a large honeysuckle bush,in full bloom on a green hillside under a deep blue sky; 6) a brilliant sunset in oranges, yellows, rising into a deep purple sky, reflected in a lake; and 7) rocky Maine seaside cliffs and the sea.

It’s a trap!
Grey and white kitty sprawled on his back on the carpet fully exposing his very fluffy white belly enticing you to reach out and rub it. How many rubs are one too many, triggering a sudden contraction and 20 sharp claws sunk in your hand?! Different every time. It’s still irresistible!

I recently moved so my shelves are currently neater than they’ve been in the last ten years (they charged by weight & I had to downsize), but what does it mean if I’ve both in the same room — sort of opposing walls, diagonally.

12/31 - Lamb, The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore
Book cover for Lamb, The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood PAL. A novel by Christopher Moore. This is the first version of the cover, in hardback; I’ve had it a long time. The background is mottled browns, the edges of the cover like gold linked stylized tulips (probably isn’t that but that’s what it looks like to me) mimicking tooled leather inlaid with gold. In the title, the L in Lamb is made of of five inches of fancy scrolling decoration like an illuminated manuscript done by midieval monks. The rest of the title is in a gold gothic typeface (a similar typeface to that used in original printing of the King James Bible). The book is satirical, yet thought-provoking, fictional account of the missing 30 years of Jesus’ life as told by Biff, Jesus’ childhood best buddy.

I entered some of my art (paintings and collages) in a local art show & sale for charity (supporting community gardens & the truck that brings a fresh vegetable market to city neighborhoods). I collaged a pear for a 3x3 art show for charity (did some other paintings too). Now I want to collage other (small) fruits and veggies bc the charity this year is for Capital Roots which does community gardens. Trying to figure it out now.
