I ponder if this is a coping mechanism for Olimar. Perhaps he is feigning his memory for his logs intentionally, or subconsciously, to avoid his trauma from this place he is forced to return?
No matter what, let’s hope Olimar keeps what means most to him!

I feel it’s likely he suffers from memory loss. I recall the ship pod giving vital information to him that he should’ve recalled… Yet, nobody else does this for him, implying no other acquaintances to him, personal or not, are aware his memory is experiencing error.

In addition, for someone whom cares for detail, his log notes have become increasingly simple. How did this come about? Perhaps his ventures on this planet have more impact on him psychologically than he lets on, or perhaps more impact than he himself is even aware…
