@1000plateaus.bsky.social
used to work in museums, now works at School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds (she/her)
For the past 3 years I’ve been advising an unbelievable group of students. Today was their last day in Leeds and they invited me out to lunch. It has been such an honour to be part of their learning journey which has also been my learning journey. I can’t wait to see what they do next!

Gorgeous and moving reflection on the legacy of the Cambodian genocide. Congratulations to my outstanding student Martine Neang on her UK premiere of her directorial debut Roots and a most excellent Q&A with @universityofleeds.bsky.social Dr Rachel Johnson too!

Thanks a million to @lfcrossley.bsky.social for a super ace worship with our students on establishing yourself as a freelancer! Such great advice on practicalities (taxes especially) but also how to build a better (collaborative) sector while not burning out! What a legend!

The dream is coming true! @leilataylor.bsky.social and I have tickets to see @alexwinter.com in Waiting for Godot January 2026 which I am sure this is the sign that the current apocalypse is going to be reversed and unicorns 🦄 will be running in the streets trampling Teslas.

Our final stop was @firestationartists.bsky.social where we toured the site & talked about what community means, being a neighbour as radical practice, the Dublin housing crisis, & maker spaces. Such an inspiring visit & trip for all of us. Very excited for what good trouble we can cook up next!

The next day we spent morning with Judit from @improvacrossb.bsky.social at The Cooler for a zine making workshop using “what is a safe space? what is a brave space?”as prompts. Such an inspiring exchange that allowed us to think about what we need and can create for equity. #RadicalPedagogy

Next we went to Connolly Books, Dublin’s oldest radical bookstore, and spoke about creating solidarity, their work with New Theatre, anti-capitalist video games and cultural heritage as intersectional practice

First we went to @createireland.bsky.social (thanks so much to @annetteclancy.bsky.social for facilitating that) and spoke about their work and new reading room and the importance of having space to come together and the Safe to Create initiative (thanks a million Vance for your hospitality)

There was a huge one in Leeds (UK) too with great drum line. The Palestinian Solidarity folks here have been out every Saturday since the genocide started and start & stop outside our main library branch. Point I think you make a lot about how important libraries are to community life.

Phenomenal installation piece by Sarah Roberts @lulgalleries.bsky.social equal parts joyful and heart rending on the concept and construct of care. It’s also really beautiful. One not to miss.

On my university campus, the rabbits are so used to people trying to take photos of them they don’t run away unless you get within about three feet. There is often a queue of students kneeling down to get close ups and the next time it happens I’ll send a picture.

This was an excellent conference with great speakers and great art. My biggest takeaways were 1) find how to unlearn time & genealogy to expand our cosmos of sustaining forces & spirited affinities; 2) learn how to become a witch.

Thanks a million to Shelly and Dani @bradford2025.co.uk and Eddie from The Cultural Institute for talking to our students about the magnificent cultural programming on offer and how we can get involved! Also some really excellent advice about working in the cultural sector too.

One of my students did a workshop last week that used AI to vision the day of third culture kids and it was not only one of the best examples of using AI but a really powerful means to discuss racism and anti-racism. Extraordinary!
