Satellite photos are published from the refinery in Saratov, hit by Ukraine four days ago.
One fuel tank is still smoking, but the plant has been hit before, so some discoloration may have been from earlier visits by Ukraine's 'Dr One'.

So the only solution to keep the rest of Europe out of war is to help Ukraine deliver a decisive defeat against russia, ...

... The regime basically would have to start another war. And in this scenario, Ukraine would still be bound to secure the front line and prepare for another attack, thus couldn't help the rest of Europe much, neither with experienced manpower, nor with its military industrial base. ...

I agree with your assessment.
The biggest danger would be if Ukraine is forced to accept some kind of rotten "peace agreement" that can be sold as at least a partial victory in russia. That would stabilize the regime, but only shortly, as russia can't go back to a peace time economy easily. ...
