Oh totally agree with you. My point is that we should not drop standards even after joining there should be the ability to kick a country out if they do not follow the rules. But the bare minimum is that a country has the standards when joining. I am flexible on the financial stability tho

I agree with you. Progress was made. Giving them membership with lower standards is something that would forever put an * at their membership that I don't want

You are right that there is corruption in Europe. But ukraine has problems. I love the country but Ukrainians do partially want to join the EU because of the standards it brings. The recent attempt at the independence of the anti corruption agency was very concerning!

while I do want Ukraine in the EU I want a democratic and corruption free Ukraine in the EU. We should not lower the standards for them. And at the same time we should have more enforcement for those standards after joining (looking at you hungary)

I don't like that there should be a difference between men and women. Some roles in the military maybe because of physical requirements but other than that. Why should the gender that dies earlier on average serve for longer.

what it is interesting about Königsberg is that there is somewhat of a silent debate about the legal status of it. Other than the polish territories is the situation that the soviets had millions of troops in germany when germany gave Königsberg up. Which could mean that it was under durress

I don't think balkan countries and countries that were part of the soviet block are comparable in that regard anyways
