everyone seems to define the rate of learning by the rate at which they consume information (e.g. reading a book) but a more important metric is the rate at which you update your priors

used to think that the whole lower your time preference shtick from btc maxis was mostly an op but honestly a lot of things can be explained very simply by understanding that most people really do have high time preferences (either out of choice or out of necessity)
