I think all public authorities should be adding spears to signs to make them more memorable and to emphasise the absurdity of the prohibited action

And the only reason he didn't find out about ACM cladding was because the TMO hid the information from residents.

(Incidentally first article I've seen that doesn't parrot the inquiry line that he should have been more conciliatory.)

Bonus points if the inquiry then says the following about a resident who'd correctly predicted both the tragedy and many of its key aspects. Not a single article in his defence after the inquiry report was published.

Vs his track record:

EV adoption in Norway has been off the charts compared to other European countries, but I always assumed that was just Nordic environmentalism (*cough* Statoil *cough*) plus cheap hydro.

Did the campaign actually have a measurable impact?

I rejected Temple Meads the first time around, but then looked at it again and realised the outer platforms could work, plus a few photos on the web matched the triangular lattice beams and corrugated sheets (in sections without glass panels, but I knew those had to be there from satellite pics), eg

Incidentally this area factor is also why lungs are fractal and have a very large surface area contained within a comparatively small volume - same trick as eg the Koch snowflake (finite area but infinite perimeter).

I wonder if we could make fractal masks?

I've just come across these in a random archaeology video I'm watching. From 6th century BC, found in East Yorkshire in 1836 and immediately buried in the deepest museum vault by the Victorians, so no one's ever heard of them... which is a pity, I think?

That's pretty bad. In Andalusia (southern Spain), the solar noon is around 2.20 pm during the summer, which really confuses all the tourists and can be a problem if you're trying to avoid sunburn - you'd think that 3pm was reasonably safe, but it's the opposite.

Not in the UK - summer time over, we're now back on the astronomically correct GMT. (Well, correct-ish... solar noon currently at 11:44 am in London.)

In Europe the clocks go back a week earlier.

And speaking of hawk moths, apparently they migrate thousands of kilometres every year... and this article makes it sound as if it's one generation there and the next one back, ie each individual flying thousands of kilometres?!
