yeah the overwhelming majority of americans are still blindly committed to exculpatory myths (“it was empty when we got here” etc)

yeah those are 110% cringeworthy but still very valuable because it confronts the listener (and perhaps the speaker) with the absurdity of the contradiction. the feeling itself has pedagogical value, it shows how irredeemable the weapons company is again and again and again

opposition to this technique is a great example of social media systems making us dumber and less effective at accomplishing anything worthwhile

there will always be people who are hearing it for the first time (such as children!) and there will always be people who, having heard it many times already, are recognizing this truth for the first time
