I am with you Stephen, as well as with all the SEN children and their parents. I just disagree with the way the statement is framed and the mention of Autism - I don’t quite understand why it’s necessary or what it achieves. Are you please able to signpost me to the research paper? There’s no link?

We need to be mindful of how we frame these issues, ensuring posts uplift all neurodivergent communities rather than pit them against each other. I’m sure that wasn’t the intention here, but it’s important to consider how it might be read 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I completely agree that awareness of DLD needs to grow and that children and adolescents deserve appropriate support.

However, presenting this as a standalone comparison can unintentionally cast autism in a negative light and make autistic individuals feel undeserving of the support they receive.

Thanks so much. I think I will pass on ordering from the US. I will be in Leamington on Friday and hopefully get a signed copy or two from Waterstones there! Keeping my fingers crossed they will still be in stock 🤞.

I am wondering if it is possible at all to get hold of the US version of the book in the UK? I much prefer the cover 🙂. Also, are there any book shops that are selling signed copies, please? Thank you.

I have been meaning to anyway, just never had the chance. I will do at the weekend. Thank you for this gift to education, especially the SEND community ❤️.

I ran out of characters! Should have mentioned that it is the primary version that I have finished reading a couple of days ago 🙂.

Excellent book - accessible, current, relatable and so well written. A very minor gripe -some diagrams are a little difficult to read due to tiny print but most can be downloaded from routledge resource centre which is a huge bonus. The book is worth buying, it’s brimming with applicable strategies.

I am curious about sending key words in advance. Are you able to, please, put it in a context by giving an example of a hypothetical situation? Thank you.

I have a shortcut to it on my laptop but haven’t actually used it as I am always drawn to Copilot. I am wondering if it does anything that ChatGPT or Copilot can’t?

I am currently reading Neurodiversity at Work by Amanda Kirby and Theo Smith and the book is slowly changing my own opinion on it. We all know that support should be based on need, but the reality of today is - the diagnosis green lights access services, extra help and practical/financial support?
