And to think I was just stopping by these places for used CDs, in which their selection is ALSO top notch. Call me an old head but being able to get lost among the wares of a brick and mortar store is something digital storefronts can never replicate. It makes me sad that the latter is winning...

Just this past Friday I was in my local friends of the library store and found a really nice hardcover copy of McMurtry's "Lonesome Dove" for 3 bucks where I declared that I was in love with these places. The selection alone beats out digital storefronts by a country mile.

There's a certain palpable thrill of walking through packed aisles of literature that you can pick out for a bargain. Yeah, e-readers are more compact and convenient to have-- especially if you're reading a 1000+ page epic of some sort, but I also like that physical feel of holding a book too.

I also bought an e-reader (a Kobo Libra Colour) and it's definitely grown on me; knocked out three books on that thing alone. I thought it would be the end of me buying physical books but to be honest the allure of the used bookstores by me are too great for me to just stop visiting.

Ayy nice! I saw them live two weeks ago 😂 It was an awesome experience! I was able to briefly chat with the band members after the show as I waited in the merch line-- they're really chill!

Ayy, nice! I rarely get a chance to hop on but when I do I'm climbing the ranks nicely. I'd be happy just hitting diamond tbh 😂

Like when I watched Seven Samurai at home I constantly kept on looking at my second monitor or at my phone and just never really took it in. When I saw it again remastered in 4k for its 70th anniversary, pretty much sat and not able to look at my phone, I really felt like Danny Devito from that gif.

I get that they're all readily available to watch at the comfort of your own home, but honestly being able to watch these older films in a dedicated auditorium where it has your undivided attention just enhances the enjoyment of it.

Honestly it really makes me happy that I live close to a theater that regularly plays classic movies, especially one that still does film projection.
