It's worse than that. The original palantirs were a useful product of Feanor's wayward genius and were not inherently evil; they only became dangerous when Sauron obtained the Ithil-stone and used it to hack the network. This vile counterfeit is evil through and through from the beginning.

Is this a true story or just another psy-op? We keep hearing this kind of stuff. Very difficult to see why Ukraine should agree to hold elections now, or how the US could force them.

Happy Birthday from Sweden!πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ "Grattis pΓ₯ FΓΆdelsedagen" as we say here.

Fish Disco and the Power Plants would be a good band name.

I realize Canada built it and paid for it, but shouldn't they now blow it up in the interest of national safety?

Yep. They are not yet extermination camps, but that will come.

Reported and blocked

You could hardly ask for a better illustration of a failed state apparatus. The sort of thing you might have expected in Uganda under Idi Amin. At this point the gap opening up between the US and countries with functioning rule of law is becoming an unbridgeable chasm.

It’s ludicrous, isn’t it? I’ve been saying this for years. Suggests a total failure to understand what’s the core output of a university, and who are the core staff. Like forcing Maria Callas to do the accounts at the opera, leaving her no time to sing.

Why choose between dementia and psychopathy when you can have both?

Male goldeneye!

No human decency detected.

In this instance I wonder whether the name really is known. The Inkas and the Aztecs were powerful empires at the time the Spanish arrived but they were not very old, only a couple of centuries. There had been many other states and cultures before them; some we know the names of, some not.

Really? Driving around unlocked is standard practice in both Britain and Sweden (the two countries where I have personal experience), unless you have small children on board. I've done it all my life. There's no need to lock anyone out.

This particular conspiracy theory has been a real trope in western fiction for ages. I remember watching Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut, a good example, more than 20 years ago. Turns out it was basically a documentary. It’s really hard to deal with this.

What about Canada? They also belong.

Time to block you.

Laths balanced on the picture rail?

The ones I remember are some WWI ones - the Bristol Fighter was nice - and very challenging Short Stirling bomber that I don’t think I ever finished.

I built a few when I was around 12-13. All very badly, it must be said. Sloppy paintwork and glue on the windows.

Did you build Airfix models? Bet you did.

Not a real expert, I just grew up with them when I was a kid. But they really have something.

Gripen. The Draken was a 1960s fighter, now superannuated though absolutely beautiful. It was replaced by the Viggen, which pioneered the canard wing design, and that in turn by the Gripen. Cool names, by the way: ”The Dragon”, ”The Lightning Bolt” and ”The Griffin”.

Don’t knock it! This guy eventually turned into David Tennant. Took a few regenerations but he got there.

Five minutes later they had to be pulled apart by police, and have both been given cautions although they agreed not to press charges against each other.

This is going to end with Americans being banned from visiting other countries for public health and hygiene reasons.

Go away.

What a gem! I trust it is properly looked after? A leaky roof could do untold damage to the murals.

What would they have to spare? Ten alkies from Yakutia with twelve teeth between them?
