Well, that State of Play was certainly a step up from the Nintendo Direct. Even the stuff that isn't for me were still big reveals, & I still got Rayman 30th, a brand new 2D Castlevania, & Rev.Noir looks interesting as a new RPG from Konami.

But stop with Pragmata & RE9 being shown at every event.

Oh hey, got my copy of Mario Tennis Aces two days early from Target, which I also managed to get for $50.

Right off the bat, there's ACTUAL CONTENT TO UNLOCK & MODES. This instantly makes it better than Aces, which pretty much had all its stuff right at the start.

Boy, that Partner Direct was....rather disappointing. Bomberman SNES Collection is neat, Goemon is getting one in Japan as well, but man, the final thing just being ports of Bethesda stuff was a real lackluster way to end it. Least Pragmata's demo is out today.

Almost two weeks ago since I put in a refill for one of my anti-anxiety/depression meds that helped me with sleep.

One week ago since the pharmacy told me "we're actually out, we'll let ya know when we get more."

They have still not contacted me. This is getting to be ridiculous.

Thinking it's time for some new glasses, so of course my mind remembers the Japan only Persona 4 Golden glasses that are super rare & aren't even showing up on Japanese auction sites. My silver medal will probably be another P4 themed pair of Yosuke's orange glasses if I can win them on eBay.

Nintendo just casually dropped "oh yeah, so on top of all these Virtual Boy games, we're gonna also put out Zero Racers & Dragon Hopper, two completely unreleased games that have little to no footage or pictures online." Just nuts from a historical point & makes me hope for Bound High.

Between the Mario Wonder Switch 2 release date + amiibo, the Talking Flower toy, & the tease for a new Mario Kart Lego set + the Pokemon & Zelda ones up for preorder, feels like we had a chunk of a Direct happen, or a portion of a Mar10 Day stream. Which just makes me yearn more for a new Direct.

Epic Mickey platinum'd. This game seriously needed a manual save system for how missable collectibles & missions can be. The painter/thinner mechanic is a good idea on paper, but I'm sure due to the Wii's restrictions, they couldn't fit in all the ideas they had & it needed to be fleshed out more.

*hears about tips qualifying as a write-off/deductible now*

Hell yeah, a huge refund for once in my life.

"OH, uh, actually, not your job. That doesn't count."

SIGH.

> Zelda, Castlevania, & Dragon Quest turn 40

Checks out

> Sonic turns 35

Same age as me, makes sense

> Crash Bandicoot, Pokemon, Persona, & Resident Evil are all turning 30

Geez, really? Guess that makes...

> Sonic Adventure 2, FFX, Gamecube, GBA, & Smash Melee will be 25

I'M NOT READY AAAHHH

It just clicked with me that Persona AND Pokemon are both celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.

I dunno why, but the fact both of them came out the same year is such a weird "does not compute" feeling in my brain. Probably isn't helped P3 is when the series took off, so it feels younger.

*boots up Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution*

...the tutorial battle involves you teaming up with waifu versions of the Atari Jaguar (complete with DO THE MATH catchphrase), Panasonic 3DO, and the freakin' APPLE PIPPIN taking on a waifu representation of From Software.

Video games, man.

Freezing rain was so bad that I got a very rare "don't risk coming in, it's awful out" call-off for work. Thank goodness, as after 10 minutes of defrosting & trying to scrap it off, my windshield was stuck with the ice.

Which means I now have a 5th day off in a row to just unwind & relax.

Main Christmas haul this year. Not pictured is the $50 Gamestop gift card & a digital code for Metroid Prime 4 from a very nice person on ResetEra. Appreciate this haul more given I woke up at 3:30 & couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm exhausted. Hope others had a good holiday.

Nothing like spending about $300+ on gifts to only then have to spend ANOTHER $300 on a new car battery. Always the time of year where I have the constant anxiety & annoyance of keeping track of my finances while ensuring people are getting the gifts they wanted.

After a year of waiting, finally got the Sonic x Shadow Generations LE. I do have some nitpicks, like the CD doesn't have any Act 2 music. Statue does have a few spots on the hedgehogs that could've had a better job done with painting & smoothing, but Chao figures are cute & shoes keychain is cool.

Aw yeah, Jojo Part 7 confirmed for March 19th with a 47 minute first episode. Gonna be mostly a fresh watch for me given how much I've forgotten about what happens, save for a few bonkers plot points. Now PLEASE just do weekly releases again.

I'm starting to think my new year's revolution will be getting a new job & getting out of the marijuana business. The team I worked with almost 5 years ago is all gone new & the new team is a pale comparison. The 30 minute drive each way & the new wholesale tax starting Jan. 1st doesn't help either.

Another year of the TGAs where 90% of the reveals were not for me. Mega Man 12 reveal is awesome (though 2027?!), Gang of Dragon is neat to see from the creator of Yakuza....and that's it.
December 12, 2025 at 4:14 AM
Decided to make TGA predictions that were more within actual expectations of what tonight will bring. Not helped is that I won't get home until a hour after it starts, so I may just wait for a summary of what got revealed.

Looks like the PS 2025 Wrap-Up is out. It'll probably increase a bit since I'm still working on backlog stuff, but geez, 900+ hours across 65 titles. I need to find my stats from last year to compare.

Today, on Zonic Znacks On...

Oven Roasted Chicken Doritos from Korea. These were really good with that chicken seasoning flavor, close to those lemon pepper rotisseries. The "extremely crispy" wasn't lying either, as these were double, if not triple the crunch & thickness of a regular Doritos.

I nabbed Rainbow Cotton for $5 on PSN.

I have been slamming my head on the last three bosses of the game, let alone the last level & its mini-boss.

I'm also playing on Easy.

I understand why this is considered one of the lesser entries in the Cotton shmup series, because FUUUCCCKKKK THESE BOSSES.

34 hours later, completed Shadow Labyrinth. May be the most 3/5 metroidvanias that could've been a 4/5 had they ironed out some of the map layout & given you upgrades much sooner (double jump took like 2/3rds of the game to get). Was the most "Am I going the right way" I've felt, but in a bad way.
