In hindsight, instead of putting a labubu on Karl Marx’s grave, it would have been funnier to put it on Theodor Adorno’s.

“This was my introduction to a process that repeats itself every time someone dies and loved ones post about them on social media -- primarily Facebook. Comments are harvested as raw materials for obituaries written by AI, and dozens of bots share links to them back on Facebook.”
AI Obituary Pirates Are Exploiting Our Grief. I Tracked One Down to Find Out Why
After the death of my sister, I was pulled into the troubling world of AI-written obituaries. This is what I learned about grief, scams and the people behind the words.

Wow
When D&S researchers Ranjit Singh, @livgar.bsky.social‬, @briana-v.bsky.social‬, and @emnetspeaks.bsky.social‬ set out to interview people about their use of mental health chatbots, they encountered — and were fascinated by — a particular kind of AI-enabled deception. datasociety.net/points/chatb...

Bluesky’s chronological feed has me scrolling three times more than other platforms—kind of wild. I put together a list of people into internet culture, but I miss out on plenty of others who post about it, even among people I already follow. Where do I get a recommendation algorithm...?

It was quite out of place, in my opinion, to link Mangione to Kaczynski simply because he had read and appreciated him – he appreciated Dr. Seuss even more, for that matter. I would point out, however, that the 15-year-old school shooter in Wisconsin explicitly cites Kaczynski (without naming him) 🧵

Ok, I get it, making memes glorifying Luigi Mangione isn’t productive because no problems are solved if individuals or small groups start taking shots at CEOs. But at this point, I’d expect you to cheer when they’re taken out by a State, like China does.

Elon Musk, with his 4-year-old son X-Æ-12, appeared together on Capitol Hill Thursday for a DOGE meeting—but you can call him ‘Human Shield,’ it’s easier to pronounce.

A white cis male straight out of the manosphere podcast circuit, probably a Trump voter if he even bothered—he straight-up ended the gender war.

I always figured that even if I did something important in life, no one would take me seriously given the dumb digital footprint I’ve left over the last 20 years. But Luigi Mangione’s story gives me hope.

Facebook has become so irrelevant that Luigi Mangione's account is still active there.

🧵 From his Goodreads account, we know Luigi Mangione, the engineer suspected of killing the United HealthCare CEO, has read many books on back pain. As someone who also works at a desk and also has been suffering from an annoying back pain, I have a message of social progress:

I didn’t listen to enough music, just podcasts, so I didn’t get a Spotify Wrapped. But I still wanted the stats—how else am I supposed to know who I am?
