New things brewing…

Also, come visit me in Artist’s Alley at the Wallaceburg Comic Con on September 27th. I promise both artwork and shenanigans.
Possible new shirt design for the Zero Illustration Threadless site. Thoughts?

Two albums I have a lot of affection for are taken up and discussed on this week’s WHaT. Mothfly is my favourite from IT as it was my first. I seem to recall Artoffact really pushing it upon its announcement. The SM album was a nice reminder of a dirty, grinding industrial that I had been missing.

Always a great day when new Lana Del Rabies is unleashed upon an unsuspecting audience. Listened while out on a walk this cold, windy morning and it was perfect. Not easy no, but perfect.
Lana Del Rabies | Omnipotent Fuck

Out now via Phage Tapes
and Feral Crone Recordings.

This is not a record. It’s not an EP. It definitely is the most deranged thing I’ve made so far. The second of three works, ending with the next record. Hear it for yourself.

Not being a DJ, I find it very interesting hearing about the process and methodology that goes into creating sets for club play and how that changes both by time as well as the limits and benefits inherent in challenging your audience.

This is one of those headlines that you can't believe -- and the story itself, even wilder.
New Version of Seminal Austin Horror Brings a Lost Throbbing Gristle Soundtrack to Light • The Austin Chronicle
An infamous gem of Austin’s 1980s underground film scene gets a special screening this weekend, but that’s not what’s getting director Neil Ruttenberg excited. It’s that the screening of “Mask of Sarn...

I used to talk to my pain specialist about Front 242 and Laibach while she was injecting lidocaine into my back. Any distraction will do.
Have a dentist's appointment? Listen to Youth Code on the way to it. It won't make it less painful but at least you'll be listening to Youth Code.

The Zanias really is THAT good. Happy to see Bandcamp giving it some well deserved shine.
New & Notable: Zanias makes great, sweeping, theatrical pop, centering her commanding alto amidst giant stalactites of synth.
