TIL that scandalous Serge Gainsbourg record I had as a kid was originally recorded with Brigitte Bardot, not Jane Birkin.

I’ve been thinking this for some time. Glad to see I’m not alone.
I don't believe Donald Trump was involved in Epstein's sex trafficking ring... I believe Epstein was involved in Donald Trumps sex trafficking ring. Trump plays second fiddle to no one. Epstein didn't buy the Miss Teen USA pageant, Trump did. Do you actually think it was for the investment?

“would you like me to leave the Presidency” YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES
I can’t wait to never watch this.

In the early 80s I lived in a town that had no CBS affiliate and bemoaned the fact that I couldn’t watch 60 Minutes. Now I make a conscious decision not to watch that network at all.
Per NY Times’s Michael Grynbaum on X, this is Sharyn Alfonsi’s email to her “60 Minutes” colleagues in full:

I watched “Angels in America” again, and I still say that substituting Roy’s last phone call for Ethel’s lullaby would improve the plot and pacing.

When my grandfather left the town where he grew up, over 100 years ago, it was probably 20% Jewish. Today there are maybe 100 left. There’s one kosher deli and a graveyard over 400 years old.

Some say it will take decades to recover from this administration’s actions, but it might be centuries.

“The Night of the Hunter” is a Christmas movie.

I think this movie featured Rob Reiner’s acting debut.
I was watching "Where's Poppa?" (Carl Reiner, 1970) and immediately recognized the radio program at the beginning as "Rambling with Gambling" because I used to listen to it to see if school was closed.

In ten years we will be begging immigrants and tourists to come to the USA. I don’t think they will, though.

Having never been a Christian, I must say I have no idea what Erika Kirk means by “forgiveness,” nor what makes it a good thing. I’m not watching CBS to find out.

FUN FACT: the actor who portrayed "Lucky" on Broadway was named "Epstein"
Remove the commas and you get Lucky's monologue from Godot.

WalletHub says this place is #3 on its list of “most caring cities.” I have moved several of these signs (in violation of a city ordinance) because they are blocking sidewalks.

The new US visa requirements include not only “social media” history, but also applicants’ email addresses from the past 10 years, their telephone numbers used in the past five years, and names and details of family members.

SCOTUS found Biden didn’t have authority as President to cut student loans without Congress.

Yet they find Trump has the authority to cut whole government and eliminate entire agencies unilaterally.

This is the most compromised, partisan and unethical Supreme Court in history.

The GOP healthcare “plan” looks like a stalking horse for Social Security “reform.” My hair stands on end and lightning shoots out of my fingertips when I hear the expression “private accounts.”

The whole thread is interesting; I’ve worried for some time that anti-immigrant sentiment could doom us.
9. The Trump administration’s “cultivate resistance” memo this week, preposterous and sinister in equal measure, claims that by letting immigrants in, Europe faces “civilisational erasure”. The opposite is true. But, as Runciman points out, “there soon won’t be enough immigrants to go around.” 9/12

Michael Moore said Trump only ran for President because he wanted a raise for “The Apprentice,” but got fired instead. Now it’s clear he became President, in part, to get back on TV. Prepare for lie-filled tweets about his great show.
