On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

Alright everyone, so it sounds like October 14th is officially "piss on a nazi's grave" day?

When viewed through the lenses of a social contract, I am not being intolerant when I punch a Neo-Nazi would wants my Jewish family dead.

The believe that we people on both sides of an issue should be alive is built into tolerance. If you don’t believe I should live, I don’t have to tolerate that.

Dr Jacobs is doing a great job being a voice of reason in an absolutely ridiculous time.
A point of clarity about the ACIP meeting. Most of the presenters are actual experts in vaccines who are career scientists at the CDC. They present facts to the Committee.

They should not be confused with the *members* of the committee, who RFK Jr. handpicked to support his anti-vax agenda.

I've received many messages from concerned constituents over the past 24 hours, asking me about the standing ovation connected to Charlie Kirk in yesterday's session in the House of Commons. Please see my statement on the matter.

Disappointed to report that Alexandra Mendès stands by her decision to give a standing ovation to Charlie Kirk, a man who was committed to encouraging political violence at all costs.

@alexandramendes.bsky.social please try to grapple with the sheer depth of people you have hurt with this action.

It is with great pride that I report both @ernieklassen-mp.bsky.social and @darrenfisherns.bsky.social did not rise to give a standing ovation for a man who advocated for violence against our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.

I am glad to hear some are aware of the tumultuous times we live in.

Charlie Kirk's death was a tragedy.
But he built his name on provocation and white supremacy.
He said that gun deaths of innocents was "worth it."
On Mark Carney's first day as PM in Parliament Liberals gave Kirk a standing ovation.
Ceding ground to extremism won't make them nicer.

Heinous actions by the Canadian parliament today.

How is this now the second time you've given a standing ovation to a Nazi in only the last two years? Are you not paying any attention?

Are you gleefully celebrating the most vile racists in society because you enjoy it?

Conservatives will really be like "can you name even ONE racist thing that Charlie Kirk said" and then when you name five they're like "well can you name ONE that I DON'T AGREE WITH"

That the “free speech” crowd has launched into even more frothing demands for speech crackdown while using their platform to lie constantly, brazenly about both Kirk and the shooter—who very much seem to be one of theirs—should jolt centrists out of any sense these people can be accommodated

The harsh crackdown on anyone who doesn't properly mourn Charlie Kirk and pretend he was a good guy is polarizing me more and more in the opposite direction.

He was a vile, hateful little man who wanted people like me lynched. The more you scream at me for pointing that out, the more I'll say it.

No I don’t. Especially not his daughter. Who he repeatedly said shouldn’t be able to have an abortion even if she was raped

listen: we don't have to agree with Charlie Kirk. we don't have to like Charlie Kirk. we don't even have to respect Charlie Kirk. but should we honor his memory? no. we really shouldn't do that either.

Charlie Kirk was a vile shitstain of a man who advocated for violence against the marginalized countless times, who believed deaths to gun violence were necessary to protect his right to own a gun. If you would ask me to shed a single tear, hell, if you would ask me not to laugh, that’s unreasonable
