Are insurance premiums log-normal, Pareto, Gamma or Weibull distributed?

Or maybe affine so that what looks like a log-normal has power law tails.

Economists use Gibrat (log-normal) for wealth except at the right tail when they say Pareto. An obvious fudge. Affine returns has power-law tails and can look like a log-normal.

Wave heights are commonly modelled using the Rayleigh, Weibull, Generalized Gamma and log-normal distributions. Why not the distribution resulting from an affine process?

River heights are usually fitted by the log-normal, Gamma, Generalized Extreme Value, Weibull and Pareto distributions. So why not just use a different one which has fat tails?

In the 1998 crash GBM was seen not to be sufficient. My model uses affine returns to get a better fit. This results in a combination of GBM and another motion - a mixture distribution of the log-normal plus another.
