The everyday ramblings of an underqualified domestic engineer working with her second shift of cats and first round husband.
Almost had a "how did you die?" embarrassing moment involving long flowy stretchy pajama bottoms and a squatty potty because I'm normally uncoordinated and I'm also extremely tired.

Milo looks so proud of himself. He did a great job watching us put together the puzzle.

Beware! We are extremely exciting people: puzzle, whiskey, gingerbread cake and fruitcake 😄 there's so much action going on, even the cats have abandoned us!

The ottoman has a tail.

Milo has discovered I put a blanket in the tree bucket.

Milo is not the smartest of kitties. He's definitely an orange printed in grayscale: the sun is shining bright and warm in the front windows with kitty perches... and he settles under the not-warm LED therapy lamp.

The coffee grinder broke this morning. On the plus side, hand crushing beans with a mortar and pestle to make enough for my little French press made a pretty good cup of coffee - I don't want to do that every day, though, so I'll start looking up the best grinders out there that don't cost limbs.

I should know better than to turn on the heated blanket for a nap. I think ibsweated off 5 pounds, though, with the 30 pounds of kitties adding even more heat.

The '80s called. They reminded me that my ankles hate the cold, and that leg warmers still exsist.

When "grandma" crochets and also knows the grandkitties wear bandanas all the time.

My brain says it's nearly 5pm. The clock says it's not even 2pm. I hate this time of year.

When the toilet innards replacement kit says to hand tighten the one bolt, they don't mean "arthritic, no grip strength, girl hand" tighten, they mean "get your husband to do it or gently use your vise grips"...

I got a new wok! And Jasper got a new box!

Never just sit on a blanket bunched up on my couch: they are the natural habitat of the rare burrowing land orca who takes offense when you expose him to the light

I decided to get two whole chickens and butcher them up myself so I can have split chicken breasts since stores never have them. Had a moment of "why did I do this to myself‽" as I started, but I've dismembered many cooked chickens, so wasn't as difficult & didn't take as long as I feared it might.

My brain can't decide between going to bed or sitting up reading, but my body is stuck under cats so...

The constant homeowner debate: spend $50 on parts and potentially a whole weekend cursing to fix the running toilet ourselves, or spend $100 minimum plus parts to have the plumber come in and have it done in an hour...

Marriage:

Husband wakes up and discovers there's just enough raspberry chocolate coffee left to make himself a pot: "Aw, she left me the last of the flavored coffee!"

Me getting up at my normal time hours after my husband left for work: "That SOB took the last of the raspberry chocolate coffee!"😭🤣

The great toe nail painting dilemma: touch it to see if it's dry (enough) potentially ruining a nail, or just sit here longer with Milo refusing to come closer because of the smell.

It's so damn hard to get my recommended protein goal when I can't eat dairy, I don't like much meat, have to mind my saturated fat & salt, and can only stomach so much beans and lentils and tofu. I plan to try adding seitan, too. At least I'm good on fiber - yay whole grains and vegetables!

I've been trying to get past my anxiety over getting molds taken at my dentist for a new mouth guard, only to get there and find out it's now a 3D scanner thingy. A lot has changed since I got my mouth guard over 10 years ago...

When you buy a set of nifty little cleaning brushes last winter to clean out the window and sliding door tracks and vents in the spring, but end up cleaning them without the nifty new brushes because you couldn't find them since because you actually put them away with other cleaning tools #adhdbrain

The three beasts have been nearly fighting over the "new" window perch that they've moatlybignored for the past 6 months. Guess I'll invest in another tonreplace the old rickety one they're now ignoring... 🐈‍⬛️🐈🐈‍⬛️

Me while pulling weeds and trimming bushes "watch out there's a bunch of poison ivy here"
My husband "that's not poison ivy"
Google image lookup "its poison ivy"
Plant.id "that's poison ivy"
Identify.plantnet.org "yup, poison ivy"

Hopefully I've washed enough to get it off me 😫

Finally dug into my stack of little projects in my sewing room. Replaced the button that broke on a pair of jeans, took the annoyingly tight elastic out of the hem of some pj pants, took the bulky uncomfortable ties off a jean skirt, and turned 6 annoyingly small dish towels into 16 new dish cloths.
