No Genocide should happen in this 21st century. This is a great failure to human rights & democracy as we are facing three (3) Genocide at the same time. We urge the @Europarl_EN , @UN, & @ASEAN to restore democracy in Myanmar to end the Rohingya Genocide & atrocities in Myanmar.

I’m hearing disturbing news that on 16th September human rights defender Murat Dushemov was sentenced to 8 more years in prison in #Turkmenistan after a closed trial on dubious charges. His prolonged denial of family contact deepens concerns. He should be released and given a fair, open trial.

I’m hearing disturbing news that yesterday Rita Karasartova was convicted under articles 278 & 327 of #Kyrgyzstan's Criminal Code. While she was sentenced to probation and a fine rather than imprisonment, I’m seriously concerned by her criminalisation, allegedly for human rights work.

Today I met with human rights defenders from #Benin who work to defend LGBTIQ+ rights, women & girls' rights, the rights of people with disabilities & of people with albinism. They told me how they often face threats, stigmatisation, harassment & physical attacks for their work.
