There is a book club organization out there emailing authors telling them the club will feature their work for a "modest fee" for "branded materials" etc. Do not fall for this nonsense. You should never, as a writer, have to pay for such things.

Why does everything feel hard this morning? Oh, because I had a big event on Saturday morning and another on Sunday evening and I usually have 1-2 low/no demand day to recovery/prevent burnout and I didn't get that this weekend. 😩

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

This is an important point. They are choosing to starve people. They have contingency funds they could use to run SNAP during the shut down.
The USDA has funding set aside to keep food assistance programs running during emergencies.
Trump just won’t release it.
