Never once been inclined to give a newspaper writer the benefit of the doubt over a "bad" headline because it's a way of avoiding criticism the writer has not earned. Don't care who wrote the headline, it's attached to the story with the author's byline and the author can defend the work or not.

regarding some of the desperation posting I've seen, as kindly as I can: wellbutrin can really change your life for the better.

real nightmare of a targeted advertisement this morning.

love to get a work laptop that is apparently only meant to run sophos. can't do anything else. incredible leaps in hardware so that we can all collectively get worse at writing software. hundreds of threads churning so that work can't be done. vibecoding will surely improve this. right?

That does make sense. I would have been shocked if there were any pictures at all actually there.

West Jefferson was previously the smallest school in the county system I grew up in. The marching band did not always reach double digits. It has long since closed.

That mushroom might be in West Jefferson but that's Forestdale(ish?) and Ensley in the others.

cannot imagine how anything beyond "that is for them to decide" is your strong opinion on the matter. have soft opinions on it, sure, like I would be pleased to have them as a full member of the union. but it's not really my business.

west coast white dude "cybersecurity expert" named chad with strong opinions on puerto rican independence is a funny bit. the arrogance to put yourself into that debate is unreal.

The important thing is that you find a way to make every bit of news today about what you were upset over the 2016 primaries and fight online with someone else who is also still mad about the 2016 primaries.

finally got around to setting up the DNS to use my own domain here but without losing the screen name bit I've been using since vox dot com was a long lost blogging service rougly 2003 ish.

The thing about the doordash exposé is it sounds about half plausible but also that is the problem of the California Attorney General who I'm sure will be looking into it and not me. I get that I'm going to hell bc I use it, so I tip very well to make sure I feel mild absolution for my decadence.

Going with not holding an opinion on how and why people name their children particular names as the operating procedure no matter how much the origin of the name might ultimately annoy me.

damn it all. they found him and the news was not good. really heartbreaking.

This story has gone places, sadly still no news of finding the kid. We drove through the area between us and my mom's and there were hundreds of officials and hundreds of locals at the staging area so it is nice to see the community doing what community is supposed to.

The Walker Sheriff's Office for what that's worth is asking for "the public's assistance" and gives a block (7000s Highway 195) but that's almost nothing but a few houses and just trees and probably some ravines and ultimately connected to the Bankhead National Forest. There's no details otherwise.

I hope that you have the worst day possible that you did a spam like on a post about a missing child. You disgusting scamming fucking monster.
December 31, 2025 at 11:31 PM
man I know where I live and there's a kid—a 4 year old baby—missing and I don't know if that means he's wandering in the woods and among the first comments I saw from a local was to be coyly racist about other people's kids "demographics" and I can't imagine being so cold and broken inside.

I purchased a similar product at a Bucees that was oyster crackers seasoned like this and I shouldn't have them easily available to me.

Insurance in her case mostly, but did get an extremely good deal on purchasing the real estate in a down market at the time. Otherwise she probably wouldn't still be in business just on leasing terms.
