The fact that Netflix made an informed decision to switch out the kernel of their CDN from Linux to FreeBSD to squeeze out performance wins is a constant reminder that a lot of us just don’t face the same problems as these big companies 😂

Been an amazing read so far.
For most of the write software there are a couple things that seem certain. It’s most likely going to end up running as a Linux process, and it is going to utilize resources (CPU, memory, disk, etc.)

Why do some Load Balancers say we only support HTTP(s) and not TCP? That doesn’t make any sense to me. I feel like it should instead say “HTTP(s) is the only TCP based protocol we support”.
