It is very poignant to pause by the Tommy Memorial on Driffield station and know you are standing in the same place as the soldiers on the photos did as they waited to go off to war, some never to return.
We have placed a wreath there in memory of them all.
Lest we forget.

Members of the YCCRP attended a moving remembrance event at Hull Paragon station today to honour all those who travelled to war from the station.

A great turn for todays celebration of the world's longest station seat.
Thanks everyone who came to the event, students of Scarborough Sixth Form College who filled the bench for us, some of whom dressed up in costumes, and to the Scarborough Town Crier.

200 years ago on the 27th September 1825 Locomotion No. 1 pulled coal wagons and passenger coaches from Shildon to Stockton on the first steam-hauled fare-paying passenger journey on a public railway.
