Another week, another cool molecule to write about for @cenmag.bsky.social. This one is an in-plane metallo-annulene from Haiping Xia and coworkers.

Little is known about what delta-cyclodextrin, a 9-sugar macrocycle, can do because it's been tough to make in large quantities. A new scaled-up synthesis from Sophie Beeren's group could change that. My latest for @cenmag.bsky.social.

Previously, glycan catalysts have been mainly limited to cyclodextrins and related compounds. So excited to see this groundbreaking work, which extends the catalytic space of carbohydrates by rational design, out in @naturechemistry.bsky.social ! Big congrats to @delbiancom.bsky.social and Kaimeng!
