I stumbled upon this cute little snailfish while diving municipal wharf 2 in Monterey, CA yesterday. I’ve been seeing other divers mention spotting them recently, so I was hoping I’d find one. I almost couldn’t believe I actually found it!

Snailfish curled up on a blade of green eelgrass. Fish had a blob like shape, and is creamy orange in color. Its tail is small, but has white speckles on it. The fish has a rather cute presence. Same snailfish, but photo is more head on, with some blur of the back of the fish. Top down photo of the snailfish, with blue background behind the eelgrass.

The entire photo is white fur, though some of the white fur is from a Maltese dog and some is from a white fluffy bed the dog is laying on. It’s difficult to tell where the dog ends and the bed begins.
